Travelling to Naples
Naples is served by the International Airport of Capodichino, which operates direct flights from the main European cities, and from many capitals worldwide. Otherwise, you can fly to Rome and then catch either a connecting flight to Napoli Capodichino, or a train, first to the Roma Termini station (Airport express) and then from Termini to the Napoli Centrale station. During working time, there is more than one fast train (it usually takes about an hour) per hour.
Schedule of trains: Rome to Napoli, Napoli to Rome
Either from Capodichino or from the station you can catch a taxi (look at the fixed fares) to the hotel or to the meeting location. Here you can find a link to the predefined fares for the main locations in the city.
Should you decide to ride by meter, here is the list of the supplements you must add to the fare
Lodging
The Observatory of Capodimonte is located up hill at about 3 km from the center of the town (map). Nearby there are few lodging options, even tough we recommend the Hotel Culture Villa Capodimonte which is less than 500 m away.
Naples has more than 2000 different options (B&B, Hotels, ecc.) to chose from (booking.com, ). Hence, if you wish to stay closer to the center or to the seaside, you are plenty of options. Public transportation works well but, in order to make your life easier we shall have a small shuttle service from Piazza Dante (center of the town) and via Parthenope (sea side). In the following map we show the location of the pick up points so that you can make a wise choice.
